Surgeons Chris Ibikunle and Angelina Postoev were physicians and professors at one of the nation’s leading academic medical centers, the Cleveland Clinic when their vision for a new type of surgical practice brought them to Walton County, Georgia the summer of 2011.”We felt there was a need to expand access to high-quality care services in suburban and rural American communities,” says Dr. Ibikunle, MD FACS who is called “Dr. Chris” by his patients. “We also wanted to create a patient-centered approach to providing health care services. Getting patients involved and engaged and committed to achieving optimum health is the core of our work. To achieve this methodology, we’d have to create a new model from the ground up”
Furthermore, Dr.Chris, and his business partner, Dr. Angelina, MD FACS, opened their main flag office in Loganville, GA on October 1st in 2011. Fast forward to 2019, IBI Healthcare Institute partnered with the prestigious global health firm, IBI, and has expanded its health practice and its unique platform to multiple satellite locations in Tampa, Florida, Buckhead Atlanta, and all across Georgia.
Moreover, Dr. Chris and Dr. Angelina prepare to open their newest location in Buckhead, Atlanta on September 16, 2019. This stands as a monumental milestone and serves that their vision is coming to a successful, thriving reality.
