About Dr. Nilton D. Medina, MD, FACS
Dr. Nilton D. Medina, MD, FACS a Board Certified triple Ivy League educated and trained plastic and reconstructive surgeon in Atlanta, Georgia. He is an expert in aesthetic surgery of the body. He has used his artistic surgical skills to deliver natural cosmetic results.
Dr. Medina received his education and surgical training at some of the best medical institutions in the country. He received his medical degree from The Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth in Hanover, New Hampshire, completed his plastic surgery residency at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, and then ultimately a fellowship in microsurgery from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Medina is joining the IBI Healthcare Institute family after having completed a successful 12-year academic career as assistant professor of surgery, in the Division of Plastic Surgery at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. He has performed over 5,000 surgeries while putting patient safety at the center of his practice.
His passion for art, science, and medicine has allowed him to pioneer many of his surgical techniques allowing for the delivery of natural cosmetic results for his patients. His surgical interests include body rejuvenation surgery including aesthetic surgery of the breast, abdominoplasty, liposuction, structural fat grafting to buttocks, and revision surgeries.
Dr. Medina is well-represented in the scientific literature and he has presented many of his research findings at numerous national scientific meetings. He also has been invited to lecture and present at multiple institutions throughout the United States.
He is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, and the American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery. He holds an active medical license in the States of Georgia, Florida, and Massachusetts. Originally from Cape Verde, Dr. Medina is fluent in Spanish, French, and Portuguese.
